I inherited a coin collection. I need to take pictures so that I can try to sell them.
I need a digital camera that will give me very good coin detail in the pictures.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

vistacal-

For many years the Nikon Coolpix 4500 has been used regularly for macro photos of numerous things including coins. The 4500 is no longer made, but you do ocassionally find it for sale on E-Bay.

The other alternative is to use the canon S-2 IS in the Super Macro Mode. The images look like this:

this is a tough one. i dont mean tht bcse there is nothing tht comes to mind. i mean it bcse too many do. im sure most half decent cams could handle this task to a suitable level.

Umm canon s2 has a 0cm super macro, also sony dsct series also have a super macro mode.

How's this for a coin close-up? Nikon 995, straight out of the box, no lens attachments necessary, and no cropping. Unfortunately the Nikon 99x and 4500 are no longer made, but you can still find one if you look hard enough.
