I have narrowed my search down to these two, and ONLY these two. Anyone have either, and can shed any light on a decision?

I hear ISO 800 performance is poor on the SD600. True?

What about purple fringing on either?

Any major differences, features that you would argue for/against?

Thanks

Hello and Welcome to Our Forum-

Perhaps you have noticed that your post has not received any replies. I am guessing that it might be due to the untr focused nature of your post. Might I ask why you have selected only the Canon Sd-600 and the Fuji F-810? Is camera size an issue? For example, there is also the SD-630 which includes a 3 inch LCD or there is the Fuji E-550 that essentially includes all of the F-810 features in a somewhat different and less expensive package.

With the soon to be introduced Canon SD-700 IS, there are indeed some other options available to you. Perhaps we can help you a bit more if you could give us a budget and some information on the kind of photos that you like to take.

I noticed that you asked about the the SD-600's performance at higher ISO settings, are you interested in low light level shooting? If you are you might give some consideration to the F-10 which has excellent low light level shooting performance.

Thanks, Mtnclimber. The reason I listed only those two is because I have already done research to eliminate all others. The SD630 and F10 were considerations, but they have no viewfinder, something I really wanted.

How about the E-550 versus the F-810? They both have optical viewfinders.

A very nice camera, the E550, but a bit larger than I am looking for. I want something that I can carry in my pants pocket without being too cumbersome. Thanks for the idea, though.

If your creative juices are flowing, go for the FujiF-810. If you want a more automatic camera, go for the Canon SD-600.

Went with the Canon SD600, Mountain Man. Appreciate your input.

Actually, my "main" camera is my Konica Minolta 7D SLR. This camera is just to use on those times when the 7D is not practical, or I don't have it with me. Hard to carry one of those in your pocket!
