I'm just about ready to buy the panasonic FZ30 and I was told by astore manager that I should never buy a camera with a silver body. Apparently having a black body makes a SIGNIFICANT difference byreflecting less light in the surroundings of the camera. Does anyone have anopinion on that?:?

Sounds like he had the black in stock and not the silver.

Actually, Silver is better because it reflects light (keeps the camera cooler).

Black looks better, though. ;-)

Ibought the silver 350d - felt it was more retro. If the camera reflects light then so will the photographers glasses, tripod legs, and any water that just may be close to you?!

Seriously if there is something in it I would be very suprised...

How much are you buying that for?

I know online is much cheaper than in the stores

I read an on-line review (not sure who it was) that the black is more "pro" looking, but the black shows more scratches than the silver.

Believe it or not, when taking wildlife photos even from a distance, animals like deer are more likely to spot the reflection of the silver and potentially spoil the shot.

Depends on if you are out taking pictures of deer..

I like the way the silver one looks
the black is boring, worth the risk.
