I am looking for a good point and shoot digital camera for my daughter. Her Canon Power Shot S400 Elph 4MP camera is broken and canon repair serviceis asking for about $200 to fix it.

She got that camera about 3 years ago. With prices down and selection up I think she will be better off spending $200 on a new camera than getting S400 fixed. She wants something similar or smaller in size with same or better image quality. She would love to have image stabilization and longer zoom than 3x if fits in the budget. Any suggestions????:?

How about Panasonic TZ1 or TZ7? Is flash powerful on them? Is Panasonic reliable camera?

Any other good choices for a compact camera?
