Pentax is offering a $100 rebate on their *ist DL dSLR, and $50-$100 rebates on various lenses. The camera rebate is good for either the body only, or the body with the 18-55mm kit lens.

Note that the rebate is NOT valid for purchases from Walmart stores. I don't know if this means Walmart.com or not.

This deal got me to jump on the dSLR bandwagon. I get my new camera tomorrow (just in time for the postponed fireworks shows).

Congratulations on your purchase. Pentax makes a quality DSLR camera. I think you will enjoy the DL a lot.

count me in, it arrives today; sold the panny fz30 on ebay last week to fund the purchase. so long prosumer pos...i mean p+s! :-)

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"oh yeah, the price is what sold me for the IST DL - $366 after rebate from beachcamera. that, and the crap pictures the fz30 turned out for my fireworks from the 4th! i never really was happy with the images - my old sony mvc-cd250 had less noise, and it was a 2 megapixel camera.

i also didn't know you could buy lenses used online so cheap for pentax dslrs, and backwards compatibility dating to the 1960s helps in that regard.

For those of you buying this camera you can get a decent photo printer for $10 after rebate. HP is offering $100 rebate on select printers when you purchase any digital camera over $300. The HP8250 photo printer can be had for $110 http://slickdeals.pricegrabber.com/s...ype=bottomline

So printer costs a net $10. Best part is you don't have to buy the camera and printer from the same retailer!

Is Willoughby's reliable. I have seen some info on them being a bait and switch. This price seems too low.
