I would recommend as did mtclimber that you consider the Fuji S5200. There is a natural light mode which automatically chooses the right ISO up to 800. I have had good luck with it. Short shutter lag. Fast focusing. Less than 250 bucks online.
If you don't need the 10X zoom, also consider the F30 and the F11. The F10 is a good camera but has almost no manual settings.
Taking good pictures of wrestling matches, indoor basketball games, and gymnastics is hard. Usually the lighting in those gyms where these competitions take place is relatively dim, so cameras in automatic model will tend toward slow shutter speeds which cannot freeze the action. Also, it's hard for your camera to focus fast in dim light.
The Panasonic that you have is a good outdoor daylight camera. I might hang on to it if I were you.
