Thanks, jackrussell! My patience is lacking at times too. I think it might be better if I had a better zoom capability, but I'm going to try with what I have. It becomes all worth it when one out of even 50 or 100 shots produces that great color and pose.
Hey vito, if you're listening, perhaps you ought to have a future Weekly Photo Challenge with the subject being Bird Photos... |

hm..that might be a good one, but that is kinda limiting, bird photography takes a lot of time..which some people don't have enough of....i'm not sure..
i'll have to ask barbara.... Vito |

Nice bird picture. Its hard to capture small birds since most are always on the move. I too have a picture of a gold finch but its not quite as close up as yours.
Ive been trying to capture a few of the Rose breasted Grosbeak family around here. There are 2 pairs nesting but only one that visits the feeder. the cedar wax wings dont seem to like that very much for some reason. |

Thanks, JamesArthurKing. Your picture is pretty good too.
For me, the biggest impediments to getting good bird photos seems to be not enough zoom capability and lack of decent manual focusing. You know, small things  |
