Klaus, very nice. Am I right in thinking that it's sitting in a pool of water ? I've seen footage of Tigers behaving like that in India so that they can catch prey at the waters edge.

Hi Klaus,
Greetings, Beautiful Pic of a Beautiful Animal. I guess you have shot this picture in India, or some other Animal Reserve. Most of the Tiger reserves in India lie in the hot areas where the temp could rise upto 45 degree centigrades, like the Gir and the BandhavGarh. If the pic was shot in Indian Summers, then i think the Tiger is taking a nap while he cools himself off in the shallow pond of water. But this is the most sought after creatures in India, of course poached a lot, and the India Government in taking all the possible steps to save this Beautiful Animal. Regards Ajeet |

Thanks both of you.
The pic was taken this hot summer in a wild animal reserve here in Denmark. It's old Baron and his wife who has spend a lot of money of making their garden (big big one) to a animal reserve. It reside in the south of DK, about 150km from my home, but we go there every summer to eat and spend good time together. There's girafs, antilopes, bisons, monkeys and a lot of other animals. The all live outdoor and most of them together. In the summer. Prob. in at wintertime. The monks and lions however has a reserve for themselves. The lions are dangerous and one of them attacked some humans a couple of years ago. And you're right Ajeet, this one loved the cooling water and stayed in it for a long time. It's really big animal and lets hope your goverment will succeed. |
