I went back to North Mountain Park today and it was very interesting. We are getting to the end of summer and today felt almost like autumn. The light was very beautiful. I came across a bunch of birds eating thistle seeds. Anybody care to ID the birds? My gallery, http://heather2.smugmug.com/gallery/205046/2/7857070

Hi Heather!

Good group of pictures you've got posted at your website gallery. From what I can seen in the pictures, you were able to get photos of:

- Red-winged blackbirds (I guess they could be Tri-colored blackbirds but it's hard to tell in these shots)

- American Goldfinches

- Either Rufous or Allen's Hummingbirds (almost impossible to tell them apart in the field)

- some sort of soaring birds of prey and Turkey Vultures, too far off to tell much from what I can see
