Bird in flight, opinions please
Took the bird with the G3 on a dull day, it had purple fringing all round which I corrected on photoshop. Added the background which I took with my little canon 1 megapixel camera. Is this pic believeable at a glance to be a normal shot?

Looking at the picture it does look like it was redone on a computer but all around a very great pic.

at first glance, it looks real....then you look at it more and it seems that the original sky? looks good :)

I think it looks mostly believeable. I wish there was more of the head of the bird, but the exposure is great and there is fantastic feather detail. Very sharp for a flight shot.

I'm trying to do this type of thing myself (I've had one too many gray days up here, so I'm getting annoyed.) So let me think here. What angle was the sky shot at?

I can't put my finger on exactly why, but it seems like the bird it at one angle (lower, at your level) but the sky is at a higher angle. I'm not sure why my brain says this, but it does.

both the background and the bird were shot from the ground. However the backgound was shot by my husband (hes into taking photos of clouds :D ) and he is about six feet tall and Im five foot seven so I dont know if that could have made the difference, perhaps we hold the cameras at different angles.

i get wat your saying looks like the one with the added bg was taken from an airplane or something.....just loooks like he is flying higher or somethign....

still guess i could have taken this from a plane with very clean windows, I wish!!!! :D

I'm not sure but maybe if the background was slightly out-of-focus it would be better - like when you have shallow depth of field.

First one is splendid!!!

It captures the peace, the quiet of this aviator.
