![]() ![]() Camera: 10D, [email protected], 1/180, f6.7, ISO200, RAW, no flash PhotoShop: RAW convert with slight WB correction, sharpen, clone away a few branches, reduce, save for web. (This is a rather large reduction... I got good and close for a 1/2 frame shot.) I was actually looking for the Osprey again, and instead bumped into this guy. I haven't seen one in years (I am told they are not rare, I just haven't been in the right places.) I thought about lightening it more, but I felt that distroyed the sunset light on it. Thoughts? Tell me what you think (in my PS skills or the picture in general.) Eric |

Getting ready to sleep for the night, I think. They hunt fish, but it was about 20 feet in the air so he wasn't doing that.

I'd like to see it lightened just a tad. Nice composition and great catch-light in the eye. You have an out of focus knob of a branch at the lower right end of the branch that should probably be taken out. You might even consider the one sticking upward at his foot. Just some random thoughts.

I tried lightening it before posting and I found it took away from the sunset light on the face/head. Maybe I should have done it less (or maybe more, and emphasise it more?) or maybe raised the dark while keeping the light the same in curves. Humm... maybe I'll try again to tmorrow. Gotta get to bed, I want to get up with the sun for some sunrise shooting.
I never noticed that knob, I agree... it would be better without it. Eric |

It's a bird of the twighlight and as such I like the lighting and the slight softness. I'd leave it as it is but look out for one roosting for a shot in brighter conditions.

Great shot, I love the fact he raises his leg.

Beautiful, the eye is excellent and because it is, all of the rest falls into place for me personally. This sort of shot proves that you are a master.
