Default Black oystercatcher

Got some nice shots of a black oystercatcher yesterday, along with the harlequins. I'd seen oystercatchers before, but never got a decent shot of one till now. These birds are found only along the western coast of North America, from Alaska to California. They aren't listed as endangered yet, but population estimates range from only 9,000 to 11,000 birds total, so they are considered a species of concern.


Out where the rivers like to run, I stand alone, and take back something worth remembering...
