In Sri Lanka this elephant came to our hotel for a wedding ceremony. There are a number of elephant orphanages in Sri Lanka where they rescue elephants that have been injured by poachers. This amazing creature had been blinded. We were lucky enough to be able to feed him the fruit from our packed lunch, but as he couldn't see we had to place the food in his trunk. Hence he is sniffing for a bit more. I had never been so close to an elephant before & it really made the holiday for me even though we got covered in elephant snot
