Just got these this morning, very nice buttery light. The Cardinal is about a 90% crop, the Starlings are 100% Enjoy.. I hope

Thanks again, they are perched on the top of a decorative copper garden sprinkler. One of those whirl-around types.

Hi Frank!! Thanks much for the compliments. I was able to get very close to these little fellas.
To DJB, thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure but it's probably a small chunk of dirt, she was pecking around in the flower beds before going to the perch. |

Kevin, that explains the mark. i just can't believe the clarity of your pictures!!!! do you manually focus or use autofocus?

Thanks Dennis, I normally use AF unless the subject is in amongst the shrubbery. For that it's AF with the manual override (Almost Sounds Like Star Trek)

Kevin, with that long a lens and w/1.4x extender, that really is amazing focus. is that 600mm lens a special glass? how far away are thes birds? or are they stuffed and you're taking closeups??
