This cheetah decided to pose for us on a road in Serengetti National Park. Using a Nikon CP5700 - since I "lost" the CF Card to 5 finger discount before I had a chance to make permanent copies I can not tell wether it was taken in RAW or Fine.
More pics from Africa travels can be seen at www.griswoldnet.com ![]() |

Very fine shot. What a beautiful animal!
Technically you have a fine shot, which need some improvement to get even better. First of all the shot is a bit foggy, that can be removed in an editor using "levels" function or maybe just a little "contrast" adjustment. After that I would crop it close to the cat. But not too close though. Remember to keep the dimension of the photo. This was done in 2 minutes! ![]() Do you agree with my suggestion? |

Good suggestion Klaus. I'd also try giving it a little more headroom in the cropping to bring its eyes nearer the centre of the shot.

Thanks to all for the comments. I believe this was just the raw conversion to jpg. I did have to crop off the bottom of the pic since it had the door of the vehicle and someones hand in t it. I have done some adjusting with photoshop and I can see that many improvements could be made. We had another cheetah pose for us later on but the lighting was not as good. I really hate havig to compress these pics down to get them to a manageable size for the web.

Klaus,
you seem to have excellent knowledge on photo editing, any resources you could point me to on the web? Do you use photoshop for your editing? -Dave |
