Good to hear about the bird's normal behavior Norm.
As I'm sure you're well aware of, bird mortality is a very constant danger for avian individuals. You've probably come across your fair share of dead birds in your jaunts. Thankfully, this little guy probably isn't in that category at this moment. |

Haha - with that profuse number of insects, the Oriole was probably already stuffed with them!

geoff, actually, I'm a beginner at bird mortality and hopefully I will never become a veteran because that sort of thing really bothers me and if I see too much of it I may go to the wrong classroom to work it out

Eric, you can claim to be partially correct about Orioles eating nectar. I finally found this reference (a very reputable source):
http://birds.cornell.edu/programs/Al..._dtl.html#food that confirms that Orioles will feed on insects, fruit, AND nectar. The above site is a wonderful site if you are at all into birding. Go to the homepage for that site here: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/programs/AllAboutBirds/ |

geoff, for what it's worth, you are really good at this stuff, you love it, so why did you ever leave it and why are you not getting right back into it. It's the old cliche' the best profession is the one you love to do because that's the one you will be the most successful at...why? Because you love it. Sorry for getting a bit personal but I felt a necessity here.

Thanks for the message geoff, I hope that you continue to gravitate back to this area because you seem to love it and know your stuff.
