Imkayd1- I used Neat Image for the noise (the demo copy)
If I really spent some time on it I couldhave donebetter. It's a good little program but sometimes it makes things look a little plastic. I've seen some amazing examples of how it can really improve a photo but it takes some time to learn to use it well(something I haven't really done yet). The only other thing I think I did was auto-adjust the levels. When I applied neat image I did it to a duplicatelayer and then revealed the bird and thistles underneath so that neat image was really only applied to the background (if that makes any sense). |

Very good idea! And it appears to work nicely. |

Hi Aladyforty...
Yes, that is a mountain behind me on my avatar... I posted a photo of this mountain earlier (but cannot find the thread now!). Go here to see the mountain: http://a6.cpimg.com/image/62/2C/3080...-02000184-.jpg (It was shot with an HP C200 (1 mp cam) a few years ago) |

Hey, Digcamfan, remember that certain 300mm lens?:-)
Our little American Canary looks like he was born out of the thistle. Cool shot. (Jazcan and Normcar, could you use a darker color than yellow? Those of us whohave lighter colored backgrounds can only see what you've said by selecting it, thus turning it to black type on gray. Anyway, those of us over fifty have a hard time. |

Bcoultry...re that lens...
![]() If you were on a certain island near your home, perhaps with lens on a tripod striving to capture the aviators of the natural world...would that lens then be a... Long Giland Lens? ![]() Aladyforty...it is somewhere high in the Rockies...I can say no more on a public forum...it is just too grand a place! |

Sorry bcoultry,
I forgot that everyone doesn't see the thread the same way I do. On my monitor, the yellow really shows up against the black background. I guess I'll just stick to the default from now on. |

I really like the composition of your photo. The light coming from behind the thistle creates a neat effect.
