There's a great blue heron rookery at the local marina this year, for the first time I can recall. It's nice because the nests are at eye level, instead of way up in trees like they usually are, and at least 8 of the 20 or so nests have chicks in varying stages of development. Here are some shots of some of the more advanced young 'uns... The nests are about 75 yards away, so these are pretty heavily cropped.
