Hey Everyone,
My fiancee and I wheredown to a wild life preserve on the coast of Falmouth, ME (about 1 mile away from Portland, ME) to go play with her new DR and my new L 70-200 4.0 I got yesterday. My fiancee and I spent a good 3+ hours there taking pictures of birds and any other wildlife we could find. We saw a few hawks and then saw this guy! We where pretty sure what it was, but it was soooo far away over the water. Its the first time that we have seen an Bald Eagle in the wild! You hear ofsightings far up Maine but not down this far. I feel honored to see it and even wonder if they are making a strong comeback. |

Yes, that is certainly a full adult bald eagle. Very nice. They are wonderful birds to watch.
In the winter, you'll see them pass through your area(we had one winter here, believe it or not.) It really depends on how frozen the rivers and lakes get because they eat almost exclusively fish. Glad to hear you like your new lens. Eric |
