My first afternoon of exploring my new environs (Chehalis) yielded this shot of a female kestrel on a signpost beside the road. I spotted her about 75 yards away, and rolled to a stop on the opposite shoulder about 20 yards from her perch. Didn't get out of the car, so as not to spook her, just shot out the open driver's window and got several shots... this one is the best.

Great shot! The light (sun) was positioned nicely to bring out the colors and detail well.

Thank you! I do like winter sunlight, rare as it is in this part of the country!

Nice one!
But I have a question that is the bit of blur happened because of zooming? |
