Here is a bird I got some shots of on a fencepost. I think it is some type of warbler but could not match it in my bird id book.

I was going to ask for an id on this one but I see from Normcars shots that this is a Kingfisher. These are from about 70 yards away on turbo zoom handheld, what a crazy looking hairdo.

Another shot of the Kingfisher, obviously not the quality of Normcars shots but hey from 70 yards I am glad to just be able to tell there is a bird in the picture.

Great shots, zoomn! Your time outdoors is paying off big time!!!

The top two pictures are not a warbler, but instead great shots of horned larks. The next two pictures are of a female kingfisher (identified by the second and lower brown stripe).

Good call geoffs, Now I see it in the book. There were quite a few of them on the fence posts and they let me get pretty close. There were lots of meadowlarks as well but they never let me get close enough.
