I read one of your post the difficulty of catching Yellow Warbler. Went today to try my chance again and after 2 hours, patience paid off. Caught this male at about 18 feet with my Bigma.
I noticed something interesting though. They tend to stay longer on branches where there's spider webs. You know these birds looks for insects or spiders. And since insects are most of them flying, you won't see these birds staying very long because of that. But since they find spider web, they have to stay longer to locate them. Which it makes sense, that's how I had the chance to catch this little one. From now on, I'll look more for spider web and stay around and if lucky enough, I'll catch more ![]() ![]() ![]() These were taken late during the day, was 19h30, the sun was getting low. Shot these at ISO200, 1/500 sec, F/8 with the DRebel Cheers |

Thanks Vito, I'm still actually trying better shots with this little one. Patience is the word of the day with them. They are so small that you need to be very close to see details, I think under 15 feet would do it. I'm not there yet

from these shots....it looks like if you were any closer, you'd be sitting on the branch next to him!!!

Thanks, I have to find other areas to shoot now. Always seeing the same bird at that Marsh. Went for a hike last week and I heard new birds up the trees, was too late though. I was just doing some nature shots with the wide angle lens. I'll give it a try this weekend. There's many types of Warblers and many of them are found only in deeper forest.
Good night, time to sleep |
