Nice effort. Looks like you got very good focus on the head.
You guys with these flying shots amaze me. I have tried tons and have none that are decent. |

I was in same boat using my FZ1 for flight shots. The EVF and shutter lag don't help at all. I haven't changed my technique that much but with 10D, I am getting much better flight shots. Even if the bird is not in focus when I take the shot, atleast I am able to track the bird in the viewfinder. Optical viewfinder is an advantage in this case. |

That last shot is great. Love the 3d effect. Great impact shot!
I can see I am going to have to try harder on the flying shots. I find that if I prefocus on an estimated range I expect the bird to be at I am getting closer to getting a good shot. One of these days........... |

NHL, both shots are great, but for different reasons. In the first one I just love the expression on that Laughing Gull's face. The second picture is made powerful by the sharp gull backed up by the out of focus scene in the background.
Thanks! |

The first one is dynamic. Did you need to duck? Tack sharp in a difficult and moving environment. I'm surprised that the movement is so frozen at 1/750th. Did you catch this one on a glide? Great photography!
