We were told this was one of the biggest Osprey nests in Maine. Who knows? But I wouldn't want to get grabbed by that beak!

I was just in Maine in September and I didn't see any Osprey nests! Dang!

Lin-That beak would do a lot of damage if you offered your finger... I also heard from a marine biologist that these birds can reach 125mph in their dive!
Willa, Thanks for the comment. Do you know where to look for the nests? Most of them are about 1/4 - 1/2 mile offshore, ontop of bouys, channel markers, or thin trees on the shore with little vegetation until you get near the top. |
