Really nice capture with lots of detail, the forum dark theme makes it look disproportional though as it appears way over to the left.

I dont use the dark theme. My page is white. Because of the camera settings and use of flash the background just went black. In all the years I shot with film, I could never have taken an image like this. And I remember when digital cameras came out and people saying it would never match the quality of film. Boy were they wrong.

I tried centering, but I now notice that the background is not a uniform black but has a lot of grey splodges.

To get the proper exposure for the flash on the Jay the background was underexposed. It does look splotchy because of the sky poking through the trees. I didnt do any photoshop to the image. The crisp outline shape of the bird is 100% untouched and is as shot. I just switched over to the dark theme. I might stay with that for a while.
