Thanks to all of you for your comments. I'm very glad that you like it.
A bit more info for you. The shot was taken with my D100, using a zoom focal length of 105mm, and employing the lens in macro mode. The butterfly was about 12 inches away, which meant that I had to crop the image quite substantially in order to get the framing you see. I have been experimenting with a Hoya +4 close-up filter, but I've ditched that in favour of smaller, sharper end images. As I'm using RAW mode I can crop the resulting picture quite substantially without too much harm. |
