In general, I like the picture. I've a few nits with it, thought.

I'd recommend processing your picture with the program "neat image":

It removes digital noise from pictures, which your picture has a lot of. The demo version (Free for noncommercial use) should do all you need to process this image.

Get the entire bird in the picture. I assume this isn't a crop, so zoom out a bit so the tail isn't cut off.

It looks like the metering in the camera was fooled a bit by the light background right behind the bird. This caused the bird to be a little washed out. I bet moving to your left (not having the bird directly backlit by the sun) would have helped. Of course I don't know what that would have produced for a background. Good backgrounds are the hardest subtle parts of bird photography (I find.) It can take forever to get the bird to sit in a decent place at the right angle... and the background can still be bad. But you've got to take the picture any ways, 'cause when else will you get a chance?

I'm a big fan of Hawks, so I always like to see them. Keep posting them!
