dcrawley has it right. The problem is usually the recharge time on the flash. This is why if you are really serious about flash photography, a external battery pack is almost necessary. I'm not sure if there is a battery pack which can handle "burst" but there might be. Its not something I've really looked into, but it actually matters to me, so maybe I should....
I have the same problem with my 10D and the 550EX. The flash just doesn't recharge very well, even with powerful 2200mAh batteries. The kicker is (I believe) that what helps with recharge time isn't as much the power rating, but is another attribute of the batteries. Eric |

Thanks again for all the kind comments and advise on the flash.
I am about to sell my CP 4500, ETX-90 and all the accessories, so I can move to Digital SLR. I have been looking at the Canon 300D. Anyone have any experience with this camera? My main concern is how manual I can get with it. I am already aware that it has limited buffer, I think 3 or 4 shots. I can probably live with that. |
