Went to a nearby park this afternoon to see if the kestrel fledglings were still in the area... alas, they appear to have left the building, as I could find no sign of juveniles or parents in over two hours. But a couple of little hummingbirds gave me photo ops aplenty, with this little rufous stealing the show! It seemed to prefer the bee balm over the Lucifer crocosmia, but I got plenty of images of it sampling both...

Wonderful photos! I love these little guys. I was looking forward to taking photos of some hummingbirds that frequent my gardens in the spring and fall. They were not around much this year at all. I suspect we had too much rain and way to cold all summer long.
