With the miserable weather we've been having on the East coast the wife and I are far behind in our outside chores. Got these this afternoon between shovels of peat moss and clippings. It's soooo nice to see some sun!!!

Awesome! Which lens was the first image taken with? Is this a prime? It is just so totally crisp! Beautiful in all respects, Kevin. Though the other two are excellent photographs, the first is my choice overall.

Thanks Ward, they were all taken with the 600 and TC14E. The Grackle needed -1.3 exposure comp. I generally shoot using center weighted metering.

Lovely work. The definition is stunning almost if the real bird was right there.

Today was a cool 85 degrees. We must be getting some of your good weather, so keep it coming. Gives us a chance to leave our igloos for a while.

Kevin G
What do you use for a tripod & head with that 600mm monster? Do you use a Wimberly? That grackle is really great. The DOF is just right and the sharpness and color is really amazing. Getting the erodecent (spelled wrong!) head is really nice... that is what makes these birds beyond the average for me. jazcan I live just north of Kevin. I'll see what we can do about delivering that good weather too. It has been such a dark and wet spring I was starting to wonder if my camera purchase had put a curse on the area! |
