Good capture, Ed! Looks like you got pretty close, considering how big it looks to be. I'm no gator expert by any stretch of the imagination but is that one fairly old?? I'm just going by how the plates onits back are more rounded. is that a fair guess?

Did you try and get him to turn around ? I find that crocodiles/alligators are not very obliging when it comes to trying to get them to respond to changing their pose :G

I just read about Steve "the croc hunter" Irwin getting killed by a Ray, it punctured him through his rib cage and directly into his heart with it's poisonous tail.
