this is the second one i've caught in flight in the last couple of weeks! they must be getting slower! :lol: just a shame he flew in front of a dead reed, as the band of light color is quite distracting...

OK that does it! It's next on my list:-)

Nice catch in spite of the light band, squirl. The blue shows up nicely on this.

Nice one!! So whats your secret to capturing these 'in flight' shots?!?

I've already spent a few hours trying to get a shot like this, but no such luck..

sometimes they get into a pattern, flying back and forth through the same area. i prefocus the lens manually, then just try to catch them and keep them in the viewfinder. sometimes it works...
