Beautiful shot! I've never been anywhere close enough to an eagle for a shot like that.

Awesome as always, Mike! Looks like he is coming of age (with the few browns left on his head) I'm also looking forward to the freezing of the lakes & rivers up there so they will begin their migration down the Mississippi ... guess it'll be another month and a half before we see any here.

Thanks gang! When the rivers start to freeze up, they flock to the open water for food and it makes them an easy photographic target.

I know what you mean, Mike. When they migrate here & on the rare occurrence that the Mississippi starts to freeze, they start to hang around the lock & dams. They have a fish buffet as the fish as churned up & float for a minutes. Needless to say, the photos ops are very easy. I can hardly wait for them to arrive ... they are just so majestic of an animal that I can get lost just watching them soar, perch, play, fish or whatever.
