Here's my hawk - again in Valley Forge Park. I someday hope to capture some as dramatic as others I've seen here - this guy was waiting for me to go away so he could go pick up his mouse - which he did as soon as I started to leave.

A good job here MsPuck. Hawks are among my favorite birds to photograph. Along with the Herons and Egrets.

Does he look like a young one? I am new photographing birds, and I get so excited when I see anything bigger than a ravan that it's hard to focus and take the shot! I have a few of a pileated woodpecker, but they are so shy it was hard to get close enough to get a good shot. I will try to find at least one that isn't too blurry to post.

Or maybe I already did .... age is creeping up on me.

You guys want a tip on how to get Piliated WP's closer, go out and buy a Primos Mouse squeeker and pop on that, it will bring them and other curious birds in close... it's a distress call.
