I haven't seen a hawk for some time soI was quite happy to get some pictures of this one. I think it's a Rough-legged hawk - but could be wrong.

Nice to see some birds of prey Jim. Nice shots. Were you on foot or in a hide for these? (car etc..)

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I had stopped my truck to watch the bird hovering when it landed on the fence post. I had to get out of the truck to get in a better position. The bird was very cooperative. Shot number three is not a crop - I was able to get that close!

Yeh I do agree. The composition on that last photo is great. It is nice to have a subject like that, who is willing to let you get your standard close up shot but not fly away.It is the bees knees when you get the opportunity toplay with the subject in the frame, sometimes making small DOFchanges andto allow you to consider background and forground subjects.That is when youget those "Classic Captures". Great series Jim
