I got out today in s small snow "storm". Took a number of pictures of this long-eared owl sitting behind multiple layers of branches about 30 - 40 feet up in a pine tree. After a couple hours of trying to find the best angle and least obstructed view, this is the best I can do. 20D 500mm 1.4x TC tripod 1/30 second at f/5.6 iso 1600 (was quite dark and backlit) EC 2/3 (i think) natural light.
