I came across this rather scrawny looking Raccoon just strolling along the levy. It looked malnourished.

Great ones Steve. You have been coming up with quite a variety lately. This place you go to has lots of interesting wildlife doesn't it. How far do you have to drive to get there.

Hope you have a great 2007.

Thanks Houston,
The refuge is about 45 minutes (30 miles) from my house and yes, there is an amazing variety if you are observant.
All the best to you as well,
Steve

Hi Steve. Yes that Raccoon does appear a little thin. Around our parts it'd be considered anorexic. Interesting enough, I saw a wildlife show yesterday about raccoons and how they are of the slimmer and scrawnier body type if they live in southern climes. The warmer it is, the less body mass they carry. Maybe this is a normal size for this one for your area? cheers........Don
