I happened to see this Bittern all hunkered down and not looking to happy with the recent cold snap. His look reminded my of the adage "Life's tough, then you die."

i don't think i have ever in my entire life seen a bird that looks so absolutely p*ssed off! he looks like a football with a beak and a bad attitude! nice capture! bitterns are often hard to spot - you did well to catch this fellow...

:lol: My thoughts, exactly. It might of had something to do with the fact that practically every bit of standing water was frozen solid for two days. He sure was hunkered down and spoiling for a fight.
