Owl Goes To Boot Camp

K10D W/Bigma taken near Delta, Utah. Lots of smog and in the evening light what there was of it.

I saw him flying and then he dived into a field. I figured this would give me a chance to get closer while he was having a snack. I got myself in between the field and a dead tree and the pole. I was thinking after lunch he would fly to one or the other so he could be avove the field. As you can see from the photos he picked the pole.

Waiting for the Drill Instructor

Lie Of The Day is - This was on purpose, he did everything I told him to do when I told him to do it.
One of two things
1. He is a good recruit
2. I am a good drill instructor

Absolutely fabulous captures Roger. I've never seen a trained owl before.

Cheers, Dan

Thanks bmullen for the nice comment. He was a lot of fun to watch. I smiled for a long time after he flew away.
