From what my bird book tells me, this is a common redpoll. Part of the finch clan. These are apparently pretty rare around here, and I was lucky enough to see them. These were shot looking up (duh!), into a bright white sky - had to boost the EV compensation by a large margin to get any detail. They were really working over these branch berries. I wish we'd had blue skies this day. Also couldn't get a decent shot of them without branches etc in the way. You get what you get somedays...cheers........Don

Thanks Julie. It's not too cold here now. It has warmed up. Actually reached 12C yesterday! Hasn't been that warm since last November or October....cheers....Don
