I was driving home after an afternoon of walking through the bush looking for photo opportunities, last weekend. I happened to look across a snow covered field when I saw this dark spot in an otherwisebare tree. I quickly pulled over, grabbed the binoculars and sure enough - one large porcupine. So I hung my camera around my neck and set off to capture it. I had to wade across 300 yards of snow2 to 3 feet deep in placesto reach it - and man, I was breathing hard when I got there (good thing for VR).Unlike most of my other subjects that flee at my approach, this one didn't. Cheers, Dan

You spotted him 300 yards away??? Wow. I am more impressed with your eyesight than the fact that you actually hiked thru the snow to shoot him!! WOW!
Great shot. I have never seen one in person.....awesome!
