It's nesting season here in the San Juans. This one must live somewhere nearby on my property because it's been hanging out in this tree about 100 yards from the house for the past few days. Finally got a decent picture of it, though my lens clutch was too tight so I thought I was at 400 but I was only at 350. Oh well... at least it's a big bird and I was only 50 meters away.

Hand held, 350mm, 1/320 sec, f6.3, iso400 with my Canon 300D and 100-400 "L" with IS. Raw mode, processed with CaptureOne.
