I took a little trip and snapped off alot of images of this species recently... here's one of them taken from my belly on a sheet of ice that was melting fast in fifty degree temperatures... needless to say I was soaked.

Wow....very nice. Very good detail! How come they don't fly away when they see you? I have trouble getting close enough to shoot....They fly off even when I am 50 feet away.....

The low angle is fantastic and I'm guessing that you have dried out by now.
Super image.

Great capture Mike! A duck you don't see very often. I ran across one last week, I never see them in flocks always alone.

Muchos gracious fellow photogs! The good news is that I did dry out, the bad news is that I just came in from being outside with my son sledding and shovelling and we are in the middle of getting anywhere from one to two feet of snow... so I'm wet again!
