It was truly a georgeous day here today so in the middle of the afternoon my wife and I decided to get out for a bit. We took about a fifteen minute car ride down to the edge of Galveston Bay and walked this Nature trail that I've been past a thousand times but never stopped at. It starts out wooded and we saw about five deer but I couldn't get any of them to pose for me. Then we broke out into a cleared alleyway type thing with a creek/drainage ditch runnin down the center. There were two ducks feeding and this guy a little further away. I took several real static looking shots of the ducks and then moved on to try and get a few of the crane. After a couple of shots, he spooked and flew. He went a little ways, then wheeled around and went the other way. I was trying to follow him and keep him in the frame.

Anyway, here's the shot.... my first nature photo posted.

Exposure info:
Nikon D50, 70-300mm, manual exposure, 1/[email protected] I resized, and used auto color and auto contrast in Photoshop when I got back home.

That's a really cool motion blur. It's a Snowy Egret BTW. Very nice picture, I like it a lot.
All the best,
Steve
