Some of you may be covered up with these beautiful ducks, but it has been a challenge for me to get one. There is only one area atone local lake that I have foundjust a fewof them. Caught the Drake on shore and here is a feeble attempt to portray the colors.







Joined the hen in the water.

Well done VP. These are really good. Tough bird to photo...high DR. They are elusive. We only have the one place where they seem rife. Other places where I've glimpsed them, they're very shy and hard to photo....cheers...Don

Thanks for looking Roger, Jake, & Jeff. One of the great things about "shooting" something with a camera is.....if not satisified, you can shoot it again. Assuming it can be found :-)

Thanks, Don. I wanted to be there when the sun got clear of all the trees and have a better angle, but I had to move along. Actually, I thought of you when Ifinally ran across these.

Congrats on the opportunity, VP. Looks like you took very good advantage of it. I haven't gotten a shot of a male wood duck, yet.
