Meet my friend WOODY

Last year Woody and I spent quite a bit of time together down by the river. I went down to the river the other day to find him and let him know I like him was back to the river now that winter is over.

Here is where I found him in one of his favorite 3 trees with a close up.

I think Woody was mad at me cause he turned his head away. Only thing I could figure was I didn't go down last fall and say good bye for the winter.

I apologized and he looked at me with that OK but don't do that again this year look.

It looks like he is willing to pose again. Good news everything is back to normal.

Great series Rodger, I had to look Woody up in to ID him. I believe it is a Lewis's Woodpecker. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jeff, before I saw you post I also looked him up. If I had looked him up before I did the post I would of used the fancy name Melanerpes lewis. To be honest I like Woody better. Thank you for the nice comment and for taking the time to comment and look him up.

Thank you VP for the nice comment and for looking.

I really liked Woody's attitude, some days he ignores me and then some days he seems interested in me. After about a month last year he didn't seem to be afraid when I was around but yet if some one else showed up he left. It is almost like he knows me and understands there is no reason to be afraid.
