Took this today with the 500mm lens I bought in 1969 on my Pentax K10D along with a screw mount/K mount adapter.

The weather is still not good, 12F, but some sun!

Nice picture. Was the 500 mm a takumar lens or some other brand? I'm thinking of getting a Pentax DSLR, as I have a number of older screw mount (Pentax M42) and bayonet (K mount) lenses.

It's good to see the performance of these old 35 mm, lens are still capable of doing the job, mounted on a new Pentax DSLR.

It is a Takumar f/4.5 lens I bought in 1969, about 8 pounds and big, very big, but not SMC coated, which the newer versions are.

They (M42) actually work great on the Pentax DSLR's, even the metering works just fine, but you do have to push the DOF button to meter properly and they will not auto stop down like the newer lenses.
