I'd say that is out of some fantasy! What a beautiful image Steve! It almost looks like a painting! :-)

Thanks Donna and Mike.
Your descriptions are the exact comments my wife had.
I was just flabbergasted at the result. It does look like a painting. I would have never expected it to come out like this. It just goes to show, you never know what you're going to get sometimes.

All the best everyone,
Steve

Steve, these are spectacular! I'm very impressed. There's so much detail in the lighting and shadows in the photo thatones eye never tiresfrom looking at it. This is one of thosecaptures that we spend so much time and money preparing for.

Well done!

I do like the full frame shot better than the crop but I prefer the added contrast you used in the crop.

Did you post this in the Landscape forum?

-Kent

Thanks a bunch Kent.
I agree, there is so much that I wasn't expecting in this shot. I like the 16X9 crop better meself and I agree that the added contrast is a plus too.
Thanks for the comments and the suggestion of posting in the landscape forum.
All the best,
Steve

Great shot and effect, Steve! One would almost expect the horse to turn and walk away and fadelike a mirage.

Wonderful shot Steve. I ditto Go Cubs suggestion on the print from Mpix.com. I have used them several times and they do exceptional work.

very, VERY nice!! J.R.R Tolkien would love it. the soft light filtering through the trees, the unspoiled look of the forest, the subtle shades of green... this would a killer shot with or without the horse! if you have the pixels, this should be printed large... a 16x20 or18x24 would be absolutely gorgeous!! but i'd go with the first one... the horse looking at you makes it a better shot.

Thanks everyone for the wonderfully kind feedback.
Squirl, I have already had this printed up at 11x14 and I do have to pixels to go as high as 16x20 or higher. I also took GoCubs advice and I am having Mpix print an 11x14 Gallery Wrap.
Mandy, it's good to hear that they do good work.
Many thanks again to everyone for your comments. I wish I could take more credit for planing the shot and the results, however I am going to have to just chalk this one up to good timing and serendipity. :-)
