I have been away from the boards for a while busy with all kinds of stuff. However I just got back from a nice rest with the family at the coast. I know that this is not a wildlife shot but, frankly, I could not figure out where else to post it. I couldn't find a Fantasy forum.
This shot is pretty much right out of the camera with just a tad bit of sharpening. It's a shot of one of a trio of resuced Belgian horses on the Mendocino coast of Calif. It was early morning and this particular horse was scratching and sunning in the moring warmth. I shot this from the balcony of our room, about 300 yards away, with my 200-500mm Tamron fully extended. I was actually not expecting much and was surprised by the outcome. I would very much like to others to critique and comment on this shot to see if it's as good as I think it is.
Thanks all, in advance for your feedback.

Here is another shot.

Oh, yeah, it's as good as you thought. That's quite a catch from the balcony of your room.

Awesome! Looks like they could be a scene in a fantasy movie like Lord of the Rings.

Looks like an illustration out of a book, very nice!

That first one is fantastic, and I'm really not that much of a horse person. I agree, that one needs printing! I'd crop just a little of the left hand side and then go here...
VERY nice job.:|

Thanks much GoCubs.
A crop something like this?

Magic! Lord of the Rings is a great way to describe the mood of the shot. There is probably a hobbit in the shire just out of shot.
