OspreyLand-Yipeeeee Wacky roger is back

I went down to El Vado lake a little South of heron lake (where I normally go) to see if any of the Osprey have returned and sure enough I found this pair at the same nest by the dam where they raised two young ones last year. Looked to me like Ma & Pa Dam were really glad to see me. I spent many hours with them last year so I also was glad to see they were back. They were real busy working on their nest. Lots of sticks and grass had to be brought to the nest so It will be ready to raise another family. This is my LAZY location I can stay in the camera wagon with my coffee and still get a lot of photos.

Not that great of a photo but funny enough so I decided to keep it.

Hi to YA!!! royce, I caught them mating so I know they are working on it. If they do I am going to have a lot of fun trying to get the little ones in a photo. Thanks for looking and commenting.

great shot, Roger! you can really tell the difference in size between the male and female! i have yet to get a really good shot of an osprey... whenever i see one, it seems to be on a cloudy day, and most of their nesting sites are high enough off the ground that it's almost impossible to see them in the nests... :sad:i'll keep trying, though... your pics are an inspiration to me!

Thanks Rocky for such a nice comment. No doubt in my mind you are going to nail more than one osprey.
